Under the general direction of the Medical Director, the Clinical Counselor II is responsible for providing behavioral health services to patients at the primary care practice. As part of an integrated behavioral health and primary care practice, the Counselor II performs patient screenings and assessments; provides counseling, information, referrals and skills training; crisis management; care coordination and follow-up.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Current Maine State Board of Social Work Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required
Master's degree: MSW, Counseling or related preferred
3 years or more: dedicated prior work experience with behavioral health patient population preferred
Proficiency in a suite of Microsoft Office applications preferred
Ability to competently organize, facilitate, educate, document, and work effectively with patients, families, physicians, managers, administrators, community contacts and other disciplines preferred
Consistently use good judgment in dealing with all internal and external customers preferred
Ability to use electronic medical records system preferred
Ability to work independently, effective time management and problem solving skills, able to manage multiple priorities preferred
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask preferred
Confident and effective oral and written communication skills preferred
Ability to react calmly, objectively and effectively in emergency situations preferred


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
